Description

Various artists "Traditional music and throat singing of Tuva: Kyzyl-Moscow Vol.3" includes traditional folklore songs of Tuvan folk ensembles of Tyva and Saradak, and solo performers Vadim Oorzhak and Mai-ool Sedip.

A distinctive feature of traditional Tyva music is the ancient art and the visiting card of the Tuvinians - throat singing, and this album is no exception - in every track you can hear different styles of Tuvan throat singing, such as hoomei, sygyt, kargyraa, esengileer and borbannadyr.The collection "Traditional music and throat singing of Tuva: Kyzyl-Moscow Vol.3" includes compositions recorded during concert performances of Tuvan ensembles taking place at the festival of traditional Tuvan culture Kyzyl-Moscow, which takes place in Moscow in 2006.


Saradak ensemble: Children's folklore ensemble "Saradak" (Republic of Tuva, Bii-Khem district, Turan)
Participants of this ensemble were 9 to 13 years young artists, which played on traditional musical instruments and performed tuvan folk songs in traditional style of throat singing called "khoomei". (Tuvan throat singing).

Folklore Ensemble "Tuva" (Republic of Tuva, Kyzyl)
The ensemble "Tyva" is a real legend of Tuvan folk music. The members of "Tyva" constantly continue to improve their performance skills in traditional musical arts. During its existence "Tyva" ensemble has gained their own, unique image, style, and international recognition of Tuvan folk lovers. Currently, listeners are pleased to hear the 3-rd generation of band members. Their repertoire includes 5 styles of throat singing: khoomei, sygyt, kargyraa, ezengileer, borbannadyr. The bands repertoire based on Tuvan folk songs.

Vadim Oorzhak (Republic of Tuva, Kyzyl)
Vadim Oorzhak was born in Tuva, in the village Kungurtug. He was disciple of throat-singing master Rodion Munzuk. He graduated from the Kyzyl College of Arts, where he studied musical instrument byzaanchi. Vadim starts his musical carrier in ensembles of "Alash" & "Ertin Bulak". He was winner of the Grand Prix award at the International symposium KHOOMEI 1995. He has performed at many international music festivals, such as "Saradak", "Ustuu Khuree", "Sayan Ring", etc.

Mai-ool Sedip (Republic of Tuva, Kyzyl)
Mai-ool Sedip was born in the village of Ak-Dovurak in Barum-Khemchik district of Tuva. He began to study native folk music since childhood. He graduated from the Kyzyl College of Arts, where he studied musical instruments doshpuluur, igil & byzaanchi. He performs throat singing since childhood, especially highlights the styles "khoomei" and "sygyt". Today Mai-ool is a singer of ensemble "Alash" and the Tuvan National Orchestra.
